Former "Recent Activities" From Website
When I updated my website today, I decided it might be a good idea to keep the "Recent Activities" article that was there, in case some of you have lots of spare time and want to read about past Stuff in my life. This was posted there on August 14, 2004:

Recent Activities: I have been so busy lately! There are lots of new things going on in my life. The first (and least important by anyone's standards) is that my computer has developed an agonizing and fatal disease, and after several weeks of trying to make her better, I gave up all hope. I am typing this on a brand new computer while my old one watches reproachfully from the corner where she awaits a visit to the Friendly Computer Guy to extract my data files from her ailing hard drive.

The next juicy tidbit in my life relates to my "temporary" job at Lexmark International. As of August 29th I have taken the job permanently. I am the new Director of Global Data Management. I'm thrilled at what I know is an opportunity from God. I've got an absolutely awesome team to manage, and will be doing lots of international travel which I find extremely exciting. My first international trip is scheduled for the last part of October (after Ted and I return from our cruise). I'll fly to Paris, then take a train to Orleans (an hour south of Paris) for 3 days. Then I'll return to Paris for the weekend, and then spend 3 days in our Paris office. Then I fly to Dublin, Ireland for 2 days, then to London for the weekend. The following week I'll spend a day in the Marlowe, England office (outside of London) and then fly to Amsterdam for a couple of days before returning home. WHEW! Lots of work, but I'm looking forward to it!

I know this will take time away from writing, but I believe the Lord will provide the time for me to continue to write whatever He wants me to write. Please keep me in prayer, and especially my marriage and my husband Ted, since we will once again be resuming a "long distance marriage" until he retires next year.

The next exciting bit of news relates to my book, Uniquely Mayla. I contacted a publishing attorney and received some excellent contract advice. I passed along my contract revision requests to the publisher who offered to buy the book, and last week received their answer to my requests. Most of my requests were honored, and the few that were not are acceptable to me. I expect to be signing the contract within the next week or so.

Be sure to see the "Writing News" page for the latest information on my short fiction and article sales.

This weekend I spoke and led the worship music at a ladies' retreat sponsored by Voice Of Joy Ministries. What fun! The retreat had a Hawaiian theme, so I dressed accordingly! The topic of my talk was "Betrothed In Judgment." I spoke on God's Judgment TO us, IN us and THROUGH us. It was a LOT of fun!
